Eligibility Criteria – BFUHS Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

·         10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board.

·         Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing from a recognized university/institution.

·         Must be registered as Nurse and Midwife with Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), Chandigarh.

·         Nursing degree/diploma obtained through distance learning mode will not be accepted.

Language Requirement

·         Candidate must have passed Punjabi as a subject at Matriculation (10th) level (as per Punjab Govt norms / BFUHS notification).

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

·         Minimum age: 18 years.

·         Maximum age: 37 years.

Age Relaxation (as per Punjab Govt rules)

·         SC / BC candidates: Relaxation up to 5 years.​

·         Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Relaxation up to 10 years.​

·         Widows / Divorcees and certain categories of married women: Relaxation up to 40 years.​

·         Punjab & Central Government employees: Upper age limit up to 45 years.​

·         Ex‑servicemen: Relaxation as per rule (military service period deducted).​

• Staff Nurse:
• Should have passed Senior Secondary Part-II Examination or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution.
• Should possess a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized university or institution.
• Should be registered with the Punjab Nursing Registration Council, established under the Punjab Nurses Registration Act, 1932.

• All categories except SC: Rs. 2,360/- (Fee Rs. 2,000 + GST Rs. 360 @ 18%).​
• SC category: Rs. 1,180/- (Fee Rs. 1,000 + GST Rs. 180 @ 18%).​
