A total of 51 vacancies will be filled for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) posts under A & N Health Department Recruitment 2026. Check category-wise vacancy details in the table below.

Note: PwBD vacancies are distributed as: Low Vision (LV) - 01, Hard of Hearing (HH) - 01, Locomotor disability - 01. The number of vacancies is tentative and may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of the A & N Health Department. Only Local ST and Local OBC (NCL) candidates (as per specific A & N orders) are eligible for respective reservation. Others will be considered under UR category.

Andaman & Nicobar Health Department ANM Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Mandatory): Should have passed Senior Secondary Examination (XIIth Standard) from a recognised Board/institution. Must have passed ANM Certificate Course with valid ANM training certificate from a recognised institute.

Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian National.

Reservation Notes: Only Local Scheduled Tribe candidates covered under the Constitution (A & N Islands) Scheduled Tribe Order 1959 are eligible for ST quota. Only Local Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates covered under specific A & N Gazette Notifications are eligible for OBC quota. Other ST/OBC candidates will be considered only under Unreserved vacancies.

Note: Age is calculated as on the closing date of application i.e. 06 May 2026. Age relaxation shall be allowed in accordance with the instructions issued by the Govt. of India and A & N Administration. If eligible for relaxation on multiple grounds, only the highest relaxation will be given.

6 Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-4 of the Pay Matrix.

The selection for Andaman & Nicobar ANM Recruitment 2026 will be based on the following:

Computer Based Test (CBT): The selection will be done by conducting Computer Based Test. The CBT will consist of 80% Professional/technical subject related questions, 10% General Awareness and 10% General Science. There will be negative marking of Document Verification: All successful candidates shortlisted through the CBT will be called for Document/Certificate verification in person. Final selection will be made on the basis of merit in the CBT subject to verification of all mandatory original certificates/testimonials.
