NMPA Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

• Marine Engineer: MOTI Class Motor Certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
• Deputy Marine Engineer: MOT II Class Motor Certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958. Two years' experience as independent watch keeping engineer on board a foreign going ship.
• Deputy Director (EDP): Degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Sciences from a recognized university/ institution OR Degree in Maths/ Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications/Computer Science/ Information Technology from a recognized university/ institution OR Degree in Engineering with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application/ Computer Science/ Information Technology from a recognized university/ institution. Five years' experience in Programming/ Electronic Data Processing/ System Design & Analysis and related fields.
• Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil): Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. Two years' experience in executive cadre in planning/ construction/ design/ maintenance preferably of port and marine structures in an industrial/ commercial/ Govt. undertaking.
• Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical): Degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering of a recognized university/institution. Two years' experience in relevant discipline in executive cadre in industrial/ commercial/ Govt. undertaking.
• Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical): Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution. Two years' experience in relevant discipline in executive cadre in an industrial/commercial/ Govt. Undertaking.
• Accounts Officer Grade I: Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Two years' experience in Executive cadre in the field of Finance, Accounting in an Industrial/ Commercial/ Govt. Undertaking.
• Assistant Secretary Grade I: A degree from a recognized University. Two years' experience in executive cadre in the field of General Administration, Personnel, Industrial Relations etc. in an Industrial/ Commercial/Govt. Undertaking.
• Assistant Engineer (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent. Two years' experience in design/ construction and maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
• Assistant Engineer (Electrical): Degree in Electrical Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent. Two years' experience in Electrical Works.
• Personal Secretary to Deputy Chairman / Personal Assistant to Head of Department: Degree in any discipline. Shorthand and typewriting speed of 120 words and 40 words per minute respectively. Ten years' experience in stenographic work.
• Assistant Accounts Officer: Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or of Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
• Junior Director: Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering/Information Technology or Master Degree in Computer Application/ Computer Science/ Information technology. Two years' experience in programming System design, under latest operating systems, relational databases and front-end tools and networking.
• Master Gr. II: Certificate of Inland Master 1st class, granted under the Inland Vessel Act. Should have 12 months' experience as Inland Master.

• Class II Posts: Rs. 40,000-140000 per month (approx. emoluments Rs. 73,000/-).
